Celebrate the legacies of African American ball players and the love of the game in this hands-on history presentation. Ray Banks, a representative from the Hubert V. Simmons Museum of Negro Leagues Baseball, shows memorabilia from the museum and shares the history and stories behind the objects.

Enjoy the ride on the Red Rocket, circa 1948-1952. The presentation shows the entire route of the Red Rocket from its early beginnings in downtown Baltimore to the Bay Shore Amusement Park. Sights along the route include the Shot Tower, Fort Holabird, the Dundalk Shopping Center district and many more. Bring your memories. Audience participation is welcome.

Egyptian American musician and dancer Karim Nagi presents an engaging, witty performance spotlighting Arabic music, dance and culture. Karim shares the unique sounds and histories of percussion and string instruments, demonstrates dynamic folk dances, teaches vocabulary and geography, and gives an uplifting impression of Arab culture.

Join our sewing and knitting group. Bring your current needlework, loom, felt or other sewing project and work alongside fellow textile enthusiasts. All experience levels welcome.

Master Gardeners teach how to grow vegetables in containers. Topics covered include growing needs, container types, growing media and what vegetables to plant. No experience necessary.

Monkton playwright and poet Robert Bowie Jr. and guest presenter Michael Fallon lead this group designed for those who enjoy reading, discussing and writing poetry. Try creating your own works to share and discuss. Participants should bring three copies of at least two poems they would like to review. No experience necessary. Mr. Bowie's plays have been performed in Baltimore and New York. He is the Harvard Alumni Association's poet laureate. Michael Fallon is the senior lecturer emeritus in English at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Participants are also welcome to share their poetry at the First Mondays Open Mic Poetry Meetup at 6:30 p.m. at Manor Mill, 2029 Monkton Road.
